REFRESHER COURSE
The Refresher Course at MMTTC is designed for in‑service faculty to update their knowledge, strengthen pedagogical skills, and engage with emerging trends in higher education. These courses provide exposure to new research, innovative teaching methodologies, and policy developments such as NEP 2020.
Through lectures, workshops, and collaborative learning, participants gain both theoretical insights and practical strategies to enhance classroom effectiveness, research orientation, and institutional leadership. The programme also fosters peer interaction, enabling faculty to share experiences and build networks for academic collaboration.
The refresher course is a programme of two weeks’ duration, and 72 contact hours (six hours a day, six days a week).
Refresher courses may be conducted in:
• Core Subjects/Disciplines
• Multi-Disciplinary /Interdisciplinary/Trans disciplinary/Cross disciplinary Areas
Every Multi-Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary/Transdisciplinary/Cross-disciplinary course will be considered equivalent to the refresher course in subject/discipline.
Participants are typically assessed on the following dimensions:
- Active Participation – Engagement in lectures, discussions, and group activities.
- Knowledge Upgradation – Demonstrated understanding of new concepts, research trends, and policy frameworks.
- Pedagogical Application – Ability to integrate innovative teaching methods, ICT tools, and student‑centric approaches.
- Collaborative Contribution – Involvement in group projects, peer learning, and knowledge sharing.
- Reflective Practice – Submission of assignments or reflective journals showing application of learning to their own teaching context.
- Final Assessment/Presentation – Evaluation through project work, seminar presentations, or teaching demonstrations to measure overall outcomes.
Online quizzes, micro-teaching sessions etc may be part of the Refresher Course evaluation.
