SHORT TERM PROGRAMME / FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Short Term Programme (STP) at MMTTC is designed to provide focused, intensive training for faculty members on specific themes such as pedagogy, research methodology, ICT integration, academic leadership, or policy sensitization. Unlike longer induction or refresher courses, STPs are compact in duration (typically 3–7 days) and emphasize practical skill-building, thematic expertise, and immediate applicability.

These programmes enable faculty to upgrade knowledge quickly, engage with experts, and apply new strategies directly to their teaching and research contexts. They also serve as platforms for peer learning and collaborative dialogue, strengthening institutional networks and fostering innovation in higher education practices.

The Short-Term Programme (STP/FDP) has a duration of 6 working days (36 hours). The one-week Short-Term Programme/Faculty Development Programme will cover various themes such as Academic Leadership, Research Methodology, Climate Change, Sustainable Development Goals, Net Zero, Entrepreneurship, Indian Knowledge Systems, Gender Studies, Teacher Connect, Learner Disabilities, Design Thinking, etc.

Technology will play an important role in the teaching-learning process, monitoring, evaluation, analytics, etc.

Therefore, every MMTTC conducts at least one short-term programme on ICT applications such as Development of MOOCs, Learning Management Systems, ICT application in assessment and evaluation, Blended learning, e-content development, Open Education Resources, etc.

Participants are generally assessed on the following dimensions:

  • Active Participation – Consistent involvement in sessions, workshops, and discussions.

  • Learning Outcomes – Demonstrated grasp of the specific theme or skill addressed in the programme.

  • Application of Knowledge – Ability to translate learning into teaching practice, research design, or institutional contribution.

  • Collaborative Engagement – Contribution to group activities, peer learning, and knowledge sharing.

  • Reflective Assignments – Submission of short reports, feedback notes, or reflective journals showing personal insights and application.

  • Final Output/Presentation – Evaluation through a brief project, teaching demonstration, or thematic presentation to measure overall achievement.

Online quizzes are a common feature of STPs/ FDPs.
