4th Regional Workshop of MMTTCs, Southern Zone held

The Fourth Regional Workshop of the  Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centres (MMTTCs), Southern Zone was held on October 30 and 31, 2025.

Inaugurating the programme Mr. Joshi , Secretary, highlighted the role of MMTTCs and their significance. The UGC aims to conduct training and capacity building for around 15 lakh faculty members and non-teaching staff throughout the country through the MMTTCs, he said.

The MMTTC programmes will be evaluated shortly to understand the real impact of the training. He also suggested using artificial intelligence for the training and development of teachers and students.

Among those who participated were J.K. Trepathi, UGC Joint Secretary, Clement Lourdes Sagayaradja, Director of Culture and Cultural Relations, Pondicherry University, Rajneesh Bhutani, Registrar, P.G. Arul, Director, MMTTC, and the nodal officer for the workshop, D. Lazar, Finance Officer, Vijyakumar, Librarian, MMTTC Directors from across the southern zone, and delegates from the Ministry of Education and UGC.

Participant Directors at the workshop presented the work at their centres and provided feedback on some of the issues they faced on a day-to-day basis. Several valuable inputs for policy formulation and implementation, that would ultimately benefit the academic community and the nation at large, emerged during the event.
